GREENSBORO, N.C. – It was quite the return to the national stage for the No. 4 Ithaca College women's track & field team, as the Bombers posted 20.33 points to lead the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships after the first day of competition at the Irwin Belk Track. Ithaca won two individual national titles on the day, while a third student-athlete found the podium to secure All-America honors.

HANNAN 10K CROWN
Sara Altonen earned her first career All-America honor in her first-ever appearance at the Division III Championships, as she tied for eighth in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.70 meters. Altonen cleared each of her first three heights on the second attempt before bowing out at 3.75 meters.
Logan Bruce wrapped on the first day of the heptathlon in sixth with 3038 points. Bruce sits fewer than 240 points out of first place with three events to go tomorrow – long jump, javelin and 800-meter run. She began the day with her best performance, finishing second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.24 seconds (945 points). Bruce then placed sixth in the high jump at 1.65 meters (795) and was 10th in the shot put at 10.30 meters (549). She concluded the opening day with a seventh place finish in the 200-meter dash at 26.56 seconds (749).
Juliann Terry finished in a tie for 13th in the pole vault at 3.45 meters. Terry cleared 3.45 meters on the first try but was unable to get past 3.60 meters.
Bruce will wrap up the heptathlon at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and will compete in the 100-meter hurdle prelims at 2:10 p.m. tomorrow. The final for the 100 hurdles is at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Katelyn Hutchison runs in the 400-meter dash prelim at 3 p.m. tomorrow. The 400 final is set for 1:10 p.m. on Saturday.
Samantha Healy will compete in the hammer throw at 2 p.m. on Saturday, while Hannan runs in the 5,000-meter run at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
