No. 22 Men’s Track & Field Competes at Cortland Challenge in Rainy Conditions

RESULTS

CORTLAND, N.Y. –
The nationally ranked No. 22 Ithaca College men's track & field competed at the Cortland Challenge in rainy conditions on Monday afternoon. Cobleskill, LeMoyne, Oneonta and Oswego were also in attendance.

The Bombers dominated the 400-meter dash as Nathaniel Oczkowski led the way in first with a time of 51.21 seconds and Conor Ryan trailed in second at 52.00 seconds. Steven Floros came in third at 53.80 seconds and Ian Ertel took fifth at 55.22 seconds.
 
Jalen Leonard-Osbourne posted a first place time of 10.86 seconds in the 100-meter dash, while Sam Panzer finished in third at 11.53 seconds and Akap Takor crossed in fifth at 11.59 seconds.
 
Luke Tobia moved up into the top 10 in Division III in the hammer throw with a first place mark of 55.00 meters. Tobia also finished first in the shot put at 13.55 meters and second in the discus at 38.40 meters. Dom Mikula also finished first in the pole vault at 4.95 meters, once again surpassing his own school record.

IC's 4x100-meter relay team of Takor, Panzer, Jordyn Harrigan and Leonard-Osbourne clocked a time of 43.809 seconds to place first. The Bombers 4x400-meter relay of Zachary Woodruff, Hunter Stuart, Oczkowski and Ryan prevailed in 3:33.32.
 
Panzer finished the 200-meter dash in 23.19 seconds to come in second, while Harrigan placed fourth at 23.78 seconds. Patrick Bierach was a second place entry in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:11.69.
 
Justin Showstead measured out 48.08 meters in the hammer to come in third overall, was fifth in the shot put at 11.74 meters and fifth in the discus at 37.17 meters. Showstead was the runner-up in the javelin at 43.95 meters, while Tyler Scerbo finished fifth at 38.69 meters.

Brendan Sheehan posted a fourth place clearance of 4.25 meters in the pole vault, while Callum Howald was fifth at 4.10 meters and Thomas Fine marked 3.95 meters for sixth.

Woodruff was a runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 58.42 seconds, while Stuart finished fifth at 1:01.11 and Matt Morgan trailed in sixth in a time of 1:01.08.

Benjamin Tiber finished the 1500-meter run in 4:17.13 to finish in fourth place, while Oczkowski took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.99 seconds.
 
Ertel, Caleb Rojas, Morgan and Mark Puskey clocked a time of 3:52.42 in the 4x400 to come in fifth. Robert Greenwald cleared 1.83 meters in the high jump to place fourth, while Gabriel Khalife finished in fifth at 1.68 meters.
 
Steven Floros secured seventh in the 200 in 24.08 seconds, while Spencer Whitmore was eighth in 24.62 seconds. Whitmore took fourth in the long jump at 6.15 meters.

In the 800-meter run, Benjamin Cotes took seventh in 2:05.27, while Ryan Bieber followed in eighth in a time of 2:08.03. Puskey finished to 400 hurdles in 1:06.94 to come in eighth overall.
 
Ithaca will send its distance runners to Roberts Wesleyan on Friday evening, April 16 at 8 p.m.
