ITHACA, N.Y. -
With sunny skies and a slight breeze in the air, Ithaca College hosted their first outdoor track and field meet in over a decade. The Ithaca men's and women's track teams welcomed six other schools at the Egan Family Complex and put down some quick times and impressive marks to welcome outdoor track back to Ithaca College.

On the men's side, the first event for Ithaca athletes on the track was the 4x100 relay. First-year sprinter Jacob Antilety took his spot in the starting blocks in lane five, and the action had begun. Despite losing the race to Cornell University, Antilety along with first-year Anik Vossschulte, senior Matt Lokshin and junior Max Boreland ran another season best of 42.19 seconds, setting a positive tone for the rest of the meet.

Vossschulte and Boreland continued to make their mark on their new outdoor track in the 100 meter dash, getting first and second place respectively, with Vossschulte dipping under the 11 second barrier in 10.99 seconds and Boreland just behind in 11.02. Alex Boreland also competed in the race, returning from a hamstring injury as he was able to get fifth place in his season debut and qualify for the Liberty League Championships in a time of 11.28.

In the 200 meter and 400 meter dashes, the Bombers saw more top five finishes. In the 200, sophomore Damian Simmonds ran 22.65 seconds to take second place, with Lokshin not far behind in 23.31. In the 400, junior George Nilson won his heat in resounding fashion, running a personal best by nearly a full second of 51.37 seconds. This was Nilson's first time competing in the open 400 this outdoor season as he has primarily been focusing on the 400 meter hurdle race and is now qualified for the Liberty League Championships in both events.

In the 800 meter race the Bombers had three athletes compete and were led by sophomore Kaiden Chandler, who made his collegiate debut in the outdoor 800. Nearly even splitting the race after making a huge surge on the back straightaway of the second lap, Chandler clocked a personal best of 2:04.11 for fifth place.

The Bomber success continued in the field events. In the javelin throw, first-year Daniel Musilli and sophomore Tyler Duffin both threw season bests of 46.26 and 46.06 respectively, placing in the top three in the competition. In the pole vault, first-year Raf Campanile jumped an outdoor best of 4.55 meters for second place, leading the way for the Bombers. He was followed by first-years Blake Kinnaird, Quin Van Valen and Everett Feinhals. Kinnaird jumped a massive personal best of 4.25 meters; Feinhals also got a personal best, jumping 3.65 meters and qualifying for the Liberty League Championships for the first time.

The meet also featured an Ithaca organization 4x100 relay, where various clubs, teams and organizations across campus were able to participate, including the Field Hockey, Women's Wrestling and the Men's Swim and Dive team. The event was won by the Strength and Conditioning Coach team in 48.80 seconds.

The Bombers will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rochester, New York to compete in the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic for a final competition before the Liberty League Championships.
