RESULTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's track & field team competed in its first outdoor meet since the end of the 2019 season and came away with a convincing dual win at Cortland on Saturday, 121-67.
The top two placements in each event by the two colleges were factored into team scores.
Junior
Dom Mikula surpassed his own school record in the pole vault with a first place finish of 4.90 meters, surpassing his previous outdoor best of 4.88 meters.
Sophomore
Andy Frank won the 200-meter dash in 21.91 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 49.48 seconds. Senior
Chris Singer was the top runner in the 1500 in 4:02.53, while sophomore
Spencer Whitmore won the long jump at 6.52 meters and was third in the triple jump at 12.95 meters.
Senior
Matthew Tai and sophomore Sam Panzer were the top two runners in the 100-meter dash with times of 11.58 seconds and 11.63 seconds. Senior
Stephen Malenowski was first in the 800-meter run in 1:58.67, while sophomore
Conor Ryan finished in second at 1:59.54.
Junior
Nathaniel Oczkowski finished the 400-meter hurdles in 55.28 seconds to finish first overall, while senior
Zachary Woodruff followed close behind in second at 58.96 seconds. Graduate student
Robert Greenwald and sophomore
Gabriel Khalife earned the top two places in the high jump at 1.82 meters and 1.67 meters.
Junior
Luke Tobia won the shot put at 12.42 meters, while fellow junior
Justin Showstead was second at 12.14 meters. Showstead and Tobia flipped placements in the discus, as Showstead was first at 42.48 meters and Tobia followed in second at 38.86 meters. Tobia also won the hammer throw at 52.14 meters and Showstead finished in third with a mark of 44.82 meters. Showstead then won the javelin throw with a mark of 46.31 meters.
Senior
Benjamin Tiber and junior
Ryan Medeiros were 2-3 in the 5000-meter run with performances of 15:40.83 and 15:51.36. Sophomore
Tyler Scerbo finished second in the javelin at 45.56 meters.
IC entered two teams in the 4x400-meter relay and they finished second and third. Woodruff, Malenowski, Medeiros and senior
Alec Hofer were second in 3:36.92. Junior
Ian Ertel, senior
Ryan Bieber and first-years Benjamin Coates and Matt Morgan posted a time of 3:49.56 to come in third.
First-year
Jordyn Harrigan was third in the 100 at 11.80 seconds, while junior
Alex Whatley came in third in the 1500 at 4:05.80. Morgan clocked in at 1:00.59 in the 400 hurdles to place third overall. Junior
Thomas Fine was third in the pole vault at 3.85 meters. Senior
Daniel Monchek claimed third in the long jump with a mark of 6.43 meters.
Ithaca is back in action next Saturday, April 3 at Rochester.
