ITHACA, N.Y. The Ithaca College men's swimming team saw quite a few individual winners in several events on Saturday as they hosted a tri-meet against SUNY Brockport and Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers defeated SUNY Brockport 238-54 and downed Buffalo State by a 238-42 team score.
Ben Young,
Joe Pezzini,
James Collishaw and
Matt Crysler teamed up in the 400-yard medley relay and led the pack winning the event with a time of 3:39.89. They bested two other teams from IC who finished first, second and third in the relay. This time in the 400-yard freestyle relay
James Collishaw,
Christian Stangeby,
Caleb Chryst and
Tim Hector teamed up for the win posting a time of 3:19.24.
Young won an individual event topping the competition in the 100-yard freestyle with a recorded time of 49.78.
Gabriel Ruby and
Christian Stangeby finished second and third, respectively with times of 50.66 and 51.40.
First year
Matthew Stevens took home first place in 1000-yard freestyle and won the event in just under 40 seconds by posting an impressive time of 10:14.28. The Bombers had second and third place finishers with
Reilly Kleinhen and
Holden Shatouhy who posted times of 10:53.02 and 10:59.56, respectively.
Matthew Stevens continued his impressive showing in the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium with a finals time of 4:57.05 in the 500-yard freestyle that won the event. Fellow newcomer Matt Johnston finished second with a recorded time of 5:03.49.
The Bombers finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle with
Matthew Johnston winning the event (1:49.52) and
Dylan Haraden was right behind him with his recorded time of 1:58.78.
Spencer Brownewell won his first event of the season topping the competition in the 100-yard backstroke posting a time of 54.62.
Ithaca College once again finished first and second, this time in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Ethan Mossi finished first place with a finals time of 1:01.18 and
Joe Pezzini finished second with a time of 1:02.81.
Tim Hector posted an impressive 23.57 to win the 50-yard butterfly with
Stanley Zaneski (23.65) and
Matt Crysler (25.40) finishing in second and third for the Bombers.
IC finished first, second and third in the 50-yard freestyle as
James Collishaw won the event besting his seeding time and touching the final wall at 21.28.
Stanley Zaneski finished second with a time of 21.79 and just behind him was
Tim Hector who posted a time of 22.85. Collishaw won the 50-yard backstroke posting a time of 24.90.
Sophomore
Chris Rieseberg earned the Bombers team points winning the 50-yard breaststroke event with his finals time of 28.37. In the 100-yard butterfly,
Christian Stangeby won the event (56.03) and
Matt Crysler finished in second place at 56.22. The Bombers also took home first-place in the 200-yard IM with
Michael Paulos winning the event with a finals time of 2:03.68.
On the diving boards,
Ethan Godfrey put up a score of 294.30 for a first-place finish on the 3-meter diving board. He also won on the 1-meter diving board racking a up a finals score of 283.50.
The Bombers will travel to Troy, N.Y. to take on RPI in a dual on October 30 at 2 p.m.
