The Ithaca College softball team won both of its games against Montclair State University, winning the first game 8-1 and the second game 3-2.

Ithaca scored one run early in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The score stayed at 1-0 until the top of the sixth inning when the Bombers scored a season-high seven runs to extend its lead to 8-0. Montclair State's lone run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Sophomore Carol Buckheit went 2-for-4 with two RBI and sophomore Mildred Piscopo had two hits as well as she went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Junior Diane Para went 1-for-3 with one RBI and senior Barb Wachowiak went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Junior Cathy Blake pitched a four-hitter and recorded two strikeouts in her second win of the season.

The Bombers scored all three of their runs in the top of the first inning. Montclair State's two runs were both scored in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 3-2.

Para went 1-for-2 with one RBI and freshman Maria Kramer went 1-for-4 with one run scored. Wachowiak led the Bombers with two hits as she went 2-for-3.

Sophomore Kathy Volpi only allowed six hits and recorded four strikeouts in her third win of the season.
