ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College softball coaching staff has been named the 2025 NFCA Region III Coaching Staff of the Year, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday. The honor comes after a standout season in which the Bombers posted a 30–8 record, captured the Liberty League Championship, and earned the program's 31st NCAA Tournament appearance.
Led by third-year head coach
Kelly Robichaud, Ithaca secured its third Liberty League title—its first since 2019 and the first under Robichaud's leadership. The coaching staff also includes fellow Ithaca alumna
Payton Cutting, who serves as the team's pitching coach, along with assistant coaches
Dan Raymond and
Kaitlyn Judd.
During their 30–8 campaign, the Bombers went 11–3 in Liberty League play, recorded 12 shutouts, and notched 15 run-rule victories. Midway through the season, Ithaca entered the NFCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll and was ranked No. 21 heading into the NCAA Tournament.
The Bombers led the Liberty League in several major statistical categories, including batting average (.326), doubles (71), walks (115), earned run average (1.64), fielding percentage (.964), runs batted in (232), and total runs scored (249). Nationally, Ithaca ranked fifth in ERA (1.87), seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.04), and 20th in shutouts (12) across Division III.
Ithaca's season concluded in the NCAA Regional final with a hard-fought loss to Texas Lutheran. The Bombers were represented on the national stage by two NFCA All-Region selections:
Anna Cornell and
Sela Scheinman. Cornell also earned NFCA All-American honors for her outstanding performance.
