The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Montclair State University, winning the first game 2-0 and losing the second game 5-0.

Ithaca's first run was scored in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. The Bombers tacked on another run in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 2-0.

Junior Wendy Jo Haft went 1-for-3 with one RBI and junior Gretchen Lynch went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Senior Patti Sheedy went 2-for-3 with one run scored and senior Kathy Volpi went 1-for-3.

Volpi pitched a two-hitter and recorded four strikeouts in the win.

Montclair State scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning and added four runs in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 5-0.

Montclair's Vitiello pitched a no-hitter against the Bombers through seven innings. Sophomore Julie Wilcox gave up eight hits and had one strikeout in the loss.
