The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Montclair State University, winning the first game 2-1, but losing the second game 10-4.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth inning when the Bombers scored one run to take a 1-0 lead. The Bombers added one run in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 2-0 and Montclair State scored its lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Senior Wendy Jo Raft and junior Julie Wilcox both went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Junior Diana Gorsch went 1-for-3 with one run scored and freshman Amy Bannon went 1-for-3.

Wilcox gave up six hits and struck out three batters in her third win of the season.

Game 2 | Montclair State 10, Ithaca 4

Both teams scored one run in the first inning to tie the game at 1-1. The Bombers then took a 4-1 lead with three runs scored in the top of the third inning. Montclair State took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and extended the lead by adding five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 10-4.

Senior Gretchen Lynch went 1-for-4 with one RBI and sophomore Debby Smith led the team with two RBI as she went 2-for-4. Haft had one RBI as well.

Sophomore Cindy Gorsch only allowed five hits throughout the game.
