Ithaca vs Montclair State, 1989

The Ithaca College softball split its doubleheader against Montclair State University, winning the first game 5-2, but losing the second game by a score of 13-6.
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 5, Montclair State 2
 
Montclair State took the lead with one run scored in the fourth and fifth inning to make the score 2-0. The Bombers took the lead with three runs scored in the sixth inning to make the score 3-2. Ithaca added two runs in the seventh inning to secure the 5-2 win.
 
Sophomore Amy Bannon hit her first home run of the season as she finished the game going 1-for-2 with four RBI. Freshman Heather Afarian had one RBI and freshman Nancy Liskiewicz went 1-for-4 with one run scored.
 
Junior Julie Wilcox had one strikeout and only allowed eight hits in the win.
 
Game 2 | Montclair State 13, Ithaca 6
 
Ithaca scored one run in the first inning and added three more runs in the fourth inning to give the squad four runs. The Bombers added two runs in the top of the seventh inning to have six runs total.
 
Junior Cindy Gorsch went 2-for-2 with one RBI and junior Debby Smith went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Liskiewicz had two hits as well as she went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
 
Gorsch gave up 11 hits and had two strikeouts in four innings pitched.
