The Ithaca College softball team defeated Montclair State in its final game at the Montclair State/William Paterson Tournament, defeating the Red Hawks 9-2. 
 
Ithaca had scored all nine runs in the second and third innings to take an early 9-0 lead. Montclair State scored one run in the bottom of the third and one in the bottom of the seventh. 
 
Senior Mairin Dudek went 1-for-5 with two RBI off her second double of the season. Junior Liz Yentema went 3-for-4 on the day with three RBI. She recorded a double and a triple in the contest. 
 
Junior Abby Hanrahan is now 4-3 on the season as she only allowed eight hits against Montclair State and struck out six. 
 
The Bombers will now begin conference play, with their first Empire 8 doubleheader being against Elmira College.
