The No. 16 Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Hartwick College, winning the first game 6-1 and the second game 10-2.
Game 1 | Ithaca 6, Hartwick 1
Ithaca got on the board first and took an early 2-0 lead at the end of the first inning. The game remained 2-0 until Hartwick scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Bombers scored one more run in the top of the fifth and added three more runs in the top of the sixth.
Senior Kristin Furdon hit her sixth home run of the season as she finished the game going 1-for-1 with two RBI. Junior Liz Yentema went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one double.
Junior Abby Hanrahan picked up her 13th win of the season as she only allowed three hits and struck out three.
Game 2 | Ithaca 10, Hartwick 2
The Bombers scored in every inning except the first. In the second inning, Ithaca scored two runs. The team added one more in the third and three more runs in the fourth inning. The Bombers scored one run in the fifth and three more runs in the sixth inning. Hartwick's two runs came in the sixth innings.
Ithaca had an impressive 16 hits during the contest. Sophomore Kerri Barber went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Senior Kim Sebastiao went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double.
Freshman Abbey Pelot pitched all six innings and only allowed six hits. She also went 1-for-2 at the plate with one RBI.
