The Ithaca College softball team defeated Denison University 8-5. The Bombers recorded 11 hits throughout the contest.
Ithaca jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after the first inning. The Bombers added one more run in the third and fourth innings, but the Big Red cut the lead to 4-3 with a two-run fourth inning. The Big Red then took the lead after scoring two more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
The Bombers tied the game in the top of the sixth inning 5-5. In the top of the seventh, the Bombers had a big three-run seventh inning to secure the win.
Junior Liz Fazio went 2-for-4 on the day with two RBI and one double. Senior Kim Sebastiao also had a big game at the plate as she went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Junior Liz Yentema picked up her first win of the year from the mound. She pitched 2.2 innings and had two strikeouts.
