The No. 12 Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Cazenovia, losing the first game 3-2 and winning the second game 10-2.
Game 1 | Cazenovia 3, Ithaca 2
The Bombers lost in their longest game of the season. The game was tied at two until the top of the 11th inning when Cazenovia scored one run in the top of the inning and the Bombers could not score to extend the game.
Ithaca took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth, but Cazenovia responded with a run in the top of the fifth. The game was tied 1-1 until the tenth inning when each team scored one run to force an 11th inning.
Junior Alison Cole went 1-for-3 with one RBI off one double. Junior Liz Yentema went 1-for-5 with one RBI.
Junior Abby Hanrahan pitched all 11 innings. She finished the game only allowing five hits and struck out a season-high 13 batters.
Game 2 | Ithaca 10, Cazenovia 2
The game was tied at 2-2 after the first inning, but the Bombers scored five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 7-2 lead. Ithaca added three more runs in the sixth to clinch the victory.
Sophomore Kerri Barber went 1-for-2 in the second game with four RBI. Senior Kim Sebastiao went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.
Freshman Abbey Pelot picked up her seventh win of the season as she only allowed seven hits and struck out four.
