The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against Kean University, losing the first game 7-6 and the second game 4-2.
Game 1 | Kean 7, Ithaca 6
Ithaca scored two runs in the first inning, but Kean tied the contest with two runs in the second inning. Ithaca took the lead back in the third inning to make the score 4-2 and Kean cut the lead to 4-3 with one run in the third inning.
The Cougars added three runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-4 lead. Ithaca tied the contest in the sixth inning with two runs scored, but Kean tacked on one more run in the sixth inning to take the 7-6 lead.
Senior Kim Lamoureaux went 3-for-5 with three RBI, with all three of her hits being doubles. Sophomore Sindie Shollenberger went 2-for-4 with one RBI and senior Maura Keenan went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Senior Heather Ware recorded five strikeouts and allowed eight hits in the game.
Game 2 | Kean 4, Ithaca 2
Kean jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and Ithaca cut the lead to 2-1 with one run scored in the second inning. The Cougars added two runs in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead, and the Bombers scored their last run in the fourth inning.
Senior Christine Schoenweitz went 2-for-3 and Keenan went 1-for-3 with one run scored. Ware allowed 11 hits and recorded one strikeout. She is now 7-5 on the season.
