The Ithaca College softball team defeated Kean University by a score of 12-4 in the first game of the Montclair/Kean Tournament.
Both teams scored three runs in the third inning, and Kean took the 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Bombers scored an incredible six runs in the sixth inning and added three runs in the seventh inning to take the 12-4 lead.
Sophomore Jeanine Bleau went 3-for-5 with a season-high five RBI and one double. Sophomore Marie Kelly also had a stellar day at the plate as she went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Freshman Ellen Mullin went 4-for-5 with one RBI and three runs scored.
Freshman Nicki Swan allowed six hits and recorded five strikeouts. She is now 5-2 on the season.
