The Ithaca College softball team defeated Kean University by a score of 9-5.
Kean took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but the Bombers took the lead in the top of the second with two runs scored. The Cougars tied the contest in the bottom of the second and scored another run in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead.
Ithaca scored four runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth inning to take a 9-3 lead. Kean added one run in the sixth and seventh innings to cut the lead to 9-5.
Junior Jennifer Blum went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored and sophomore Mary Ellen Hoffman went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Freshman Rebecca Lafornara and senior Chris Pettograsso each added an RBI as well.
Lafornara picked up her second win of the season as she struck out four batters and only allowed seven hits.
