The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Kean University, losing the first game 5-1, but winning the second game 4-3.
Game 1 | Kean 5, Ithaca 1
The Cougars scored one run in the first, third and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead. The Bombers scored their lone run in the top of the seventh with Kean adding two more runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Sophomore Julie Parsons went 2-for-3 with one RBI and sophomore Marie Kelly went 2-for-3 in the first game. Senior Susan Reid and sophomore Meg Steere each added one hit as well.
Sophomore Nicki Swan only allowed eight hits and struck out three batters.
Game 2 | Ithaca 4, Kean 3
Kean scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead, but the Bombers scored four runs in the top of the third inning. The Cougars added one more run in the sixth inning.
Senior Susan Reid went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Sophomore Tracy Welliver and junior Jennifer Blum both went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Welliver picked up her first win of the season as she only allowed five hits through 5.7 innings pitched.
