The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Kean College, losing the first game by a score of 6-5, but winning the second game 8-7 in extra innings.

The game was tied 1-1 in the third inning. The Bombers took the lead in the fourth and fifth innings, but Kean tied it in the bottom half of every inning. In the sixth inning, Kean scored three runs to take a 6-3 lead. The Bombers tried tying the contest in the top of the seventh, but they could only score two runs.Â

Sophomore Amy McMordie went 3-for-4 with one RBI and junior Tracy Welliver went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Senior Jennifer Hoselton and freshman Cheryl Wah both went 1-for-4 with one RBI.Â

Junior Nicki Swan had six strikeouts and gave up four hits in the loss. She is now 3-3 on the season.Â

Game 2 | Ithaca 8, Kean 7

The game was tied 7-7 until the top of the ninth when Wah recorded an RBI single to score senior Jennifer Blum.Â

Ithaca had a 2-0 lead headed into the bottom of the third inning when Kean scored three runs to take a 3-2 lead. The Bombers responded with five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead, but Kean scored one run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Kean then scored once more in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game.Â

McMordie went 2-for-5 with three RBI and Wah went 2-for-5 with four RBI. Welliver went 1-for-5 with one RBI.Â

Swan picked up her fourth win of the season as she pitched 3.2 innings and only allowed three hits.Â
