Ithaca vs Hartwick, 1997

The Ithaca College softball team defeated Hartwick College 10-5 in the opening round of the NYSWCAA playoffs. 
 
Ithaca jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning off sophomore Julie McGraw's two-run single. Hartwick cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the third inning. 
 
The Bombers scored one additional run in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 5-1. Hartwick scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game at 5-5. 
 
In the bottom of the sixth, the Bombers scored five runs to regain the lead. The five-run explosion was highlighted by sophomore Cheryl Wah's two-run triple. 
 
McGraw went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Wah went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Junior Kristi Clark finished the day going 3-for-4 with two RBI as well.
 
Freshman Robin Bimson picked up her eighth win of the season as she only allowed five hits while striking out two batters.
