The Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Cazenovia College, winning the first game 13-1 and the second game 9-3.
Game 1 | Ithaca 13, Cazenovia 1
The Bombers scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Ithaca added three runs in the bottom of the second which was highlighted by freshman Laura Remia's two-run home run. She now has nine home runs on the season.
Ithaca tallied four runs in the third inning to take a 13-0 lead. Cazenovia scored its lone run in the top of the fifth inning, but could not score enough to extend the game past five innings.
Freshman Lindy West went 2-for-3 with two RBI and senior Margo McGowan added two RBI as well as she went 1-for-1 on the day. Junior Sharon Orchard went 1-for-3 with two RBI and sophomore Janine Lawler led the Bombers in RBI going 2-for-3 with three RBI in the contest.
Sophomore Robin Bimson pitched all five innings, only allowing three hits and striking out two.
Game 2 | Ithaca 9, Cazenovia 3
Ithaca scored six runs again in the first inning to take an early lead and added one run in the third inning to take a 7-0 lead. Cazenovia cut the lead to 7-2 in the fourth inning, but the Bombers responded with two runs of their own. Cazenovia scored one final run in the top of the sixth.
West went 2-for-4 with three RBI and junior Cheryl Wah hit her 12th double of the season as she went 2-for-4 with two RBI, sophomore Kristin Muenzen hit her first double of the season, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Sophomore Christie Davis picked up her ninth win of the season as she only allowed three hits and struck out one batter.
