GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three members of the Ithaca College softball team earned 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week.

Alex Wright were both first-time selections while senior shortstop
Hannah Anderson earned the honor for the second year in a row. All three were selected to the District 3 First Team, which is made up of schools in New York.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average at his or her institution, must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games, must be at least a sophomore and must have completed one full calendar year at the nomination institution.

All three players advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot, which will be selected later this month.

Fleming, a Biology major, holds a 3.98 GPA and has been to top pitcher for Ithaca during the 2019 campaign. She was recently named Liberty League Pitcher of the Year and earned Most Outstanding Player at the conclusion of the Liberty League tournament. Fleming has a current ERA of 1.16 and is 8-2 on the season. She has made 18 appearances in the circle for IC, starting all of them. She leads the team and the conference with 109 strikeouts on the year.

Anderson, who was named an Academic All-American a season ago, is a Clinical Health Studies major with a 3.97 GPA. She has played in 34 games this year for IC, starting 33 of them. Anderson currently has a .267 batting average, 28 hits, nine doubles and 11 RBI on the year.

Wright, a Clinical Healthy Studies major, has a .391 batting average, 43 hits and 12 doubles on the season, good for second on the team in all three categories. She has a team-best 28 RBI on the year and has 58 total bases. Recently, Wright was named to the All-Liberty League First Team.

Fleming, Anderson and Wright will now look to lead the Bombers to back-to-back World Series appearances. Ithaca is set to host Williams on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 in the NCAA Super Regional. The winner of the best-of-three series will move on to the Division III Softball Championship in Tyler, Texas from May 23-28.
