ITHACA, N.Y. – Today's Ithaca College women's gymnastics home opener against Springfield, set to be held at 11:00 a.m. this morning has now been officially cancelled. No make-up date has been announced at this time.
 
Athletic schedules across the Northeastern part of the United States have been in a state of flux for much of this week, as the impending Winter Storm Harper is set to cover much of the country with blizzard-like conditions this weekend. Late last night, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued a travel ban for buses and trucks on major New York highways beginning at 3:00 p.m. today. Although today's meet had been moved up two hours to account for avoiding the peak intensity of the storm, the official travel ban still would not have been able to be avoided for Springfield to get back to campus in Massachusetts. The call was made to officially cancel today's meet this morning, keeping the best interest and safety of the travel party for Springfield as the highest priority.
