ITHACA, N.Y. – The Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame announced its 2018 annual award winners on September 26. The awards are presented in recognition of the performances during the 2017-18 indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.

Katherine Pitman was awarded the 2018 Jack Tupper Daniels Award for the third consecutive year, the only athlete to win the award in three consecutive years. In the pole vault at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, Pitman set the NCAA Division III Championship and NCAA Division III National record with a mark of 4.28 meters. She also set the NCAA Division III Outdoor record at 4.31 meters.

Pitman was named the USTFCCCA National Field Athlete of the Year, USTFCCCA Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships and USTFCCCA Atlantic Field Athlete of the Year for her efforts during the 2017-18 seasons.

Pitman's teammate,
Taryn Cordani, finished second in the voting for the same award. Cordani also had an extraordinary year, earning multiple Liberty League and NCAA awards, including Liberty League Indoor Track Performer of the Year as well as NCAA All-America honors in various distance events. She was the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor national champion in the 10,000-meter run, finishing with a time of 35:03.20. Following the season, Cordani was named USTFCCCA Atlantic Track Athlete of the Year.

Jennifer Potter, the Ithaca College women's indoor track & field program was awarded the Charles H Moore Jr. Award for the 2017-18 season. The team received this award for the second consecutive year, which was just the second time in history that a team has been a repeat winner of the award.

The team finished second at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships, had six school records set in five different events, while also winning the Liberty League Conference Championships. The Bombers had 17 athletes named to the USTFCCCA All-Region indoor track & field team following the 2017-18 season.
