MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The third-ranked Ithaca College wrestling team hit the road for its penultimate road trip of the season when it traveled to Middletown, Conn., for the Wesleyan Quad Meet on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers swept a trio of dual meets on the afternoon to run their record to 12-2 in duals this season.
Â
Facing a pair of NESCAC schools in Wesleyan and Williams, as well as ECWC rival SUNY Oneonta, Saturday's trio of duals figured to be a challenging test for an IC squad that has been firing on all cylinders down the back stretch of this season. The three squads were able to provide little resistance, as the Bombers conceded just five bouts on the afternoon.

Ben Brisman (4
th NWCA | 4
th d3wrestle.com) scored a 10-4 win over Ahken Chu, while Oneonta's Tyler Brazinski was able to outlast

Jake O'Brien (5

The second match of the afternoon also figured to be a strong test, as IC battled the host Cardinals, which featured to nationally-ranked wrestlers and several other notable opponents. The Bombers once again prevailed, pulling away with wins in eight bouts and five triumphs which scored bonus points.
Â
Ithaca raced out to an early 11-0 lead in the match with wins at 125-, 133- and 141-pounds. First, Mase scored a 6-2 decision over Amir Daouk.
Tito Colom bounced back in a big way with a 17-1 technical fall over Tristan Stetson, while Brisman continued to rack up the victories in a hard-fought 4-3 decision over James Mathias.
Â
The 149-pound slot continued to be a needle in the side of IC on the day, as Carter Armendarez was able to outlast Ithaca's
Jawan Jones in a closely contested 2-0 decision. However, wins in the next four bouts put things out of reach for the home team, as IC pulled away.
Â
Whitney continued his big afternoon with another fall, this time locking in the pin (4:01) on Wesleyan's Ed Pierce 1:01 into period two. Velez followed that up with a pin (2:34) of his own in 165-pound tussle with Aaron Cranston. White kept the run going with another bonus-point win, scoring a 15-6 major decision over Dominic Pirraglia. Ashcraft capped the run at 184-pounds, scoring his 18
th fall of the season in 2:16 over Simon Chee.
Â
The Cardinals snapped the string when nationally-ranked Devon Carrillo (5
th NWCA | 5
th d3wrestle.com) scored a fall over IC's
Dalton Elias in 1:23. However, the Bombers got the last laugh in this one, as
Jake O'Brien once again came out on top in his second ranked-on-ranked battle of the day against Isaiah Bellamy (3
rd NWCA | 4
th d3wrestle.com). O'Brien again scored just enough in a 3-2 decision.j
