SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team hit the road for the second time this week on Sunday afternoon when it traveled to Springfield for its third dual of the season. Although IC was steady across the board, scoring 46.000-plus in all four rotations, the Bombers were unable to keep pace with the Pride in falling 188.950-to-185.700.

Ithaca's top performance came in the vault where it scored a 46.750. All six of its scoring entrants marked 9.200-or-higher scores, headlined by Kaylee Pacunas. The talented junior continued her strong run of performances with a team-best score of 9.500 to finish in a tie for second overall in the event. Baylie Trammell added a fifth-place finish with a score of 9.400. Melissa Hollrigl and Victoria Gery finished in a three-way tie for seventh with a 9.300, while Maggie Verrette (9.250) and Carolyn Nichols (9.200) rounded out the group.

The highlight of the day came in the uneven bars when Trammell posted a new personal best with a 9.600 to finish in second place overall. The scored narrowly edged her 9.575 that she posted at the Big Red Invitational last weekend.

Mina Shernan added a Top-5 finish when she tied for fourth with a score of 9.375. Elyse Ryden and Haley Lyons finished seventh and eighth, respectively. Ryden registered a 9.150, while Lyons posted a 9.125. Kendra Balcerak rounded out the scoring five-some with a 9.000.

The Bombers had three scorers posted scores in the 9's, headlined by Lynley Choate. IC's lone senior continued her excellent week with a 9.525 to post a fifth-place finish in the event. Lyons added a sixth-place showing with a 9.500, while Hannah Donnelly marked a seventh-place effort with a 9.225.

Ithaca rounded out the day on floor exercise with five entrants scoring 9.200-or-higher scores. Gery paced Ithaca's group with a 9.500 to finish in a three-way tie for third place overall. Nichols registered a sixth-place finish with a 9.425. Emily Szembrot carded a 9.325 to finish in eighth, while Amanda Cioli scored a 9.225 to finish ninth. Amy Thomas rounded out the scoring five with a 10th-place score of 9.200.

Ithaca returns to action a week from today when it returns to Ben Light Gymnasium for the annual Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational on Sunday, February 26. The Bombers will take on a challenging group, as Brockport, Ursinus, and Rhode Island make up this year's meet field. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
