RESULTS
PROVIDENCE, R.I. —The nationally-ranked Ithaca College gymnastics team traveled to Rhode Island College Sunday afternoon, and while the Bombers won the floor exercise and the balance beam, but No. 9 Ithaca suffered a loss to No. 14 Rhode Island College.
Ithaca (3-7) saw three student-athletes place first in their events, but the Bombers fell by a score of 179.275-164.050. Ithaca scored 46.225 on the floor exercise, and added a 45.325 on the beam to win those two events.
Ithaca was led by junior
Lynley Choate, who set a personal-best with a score of 9.575 to place first on the balance beam as the Bombers finished 1-2 in the event. Sophomore
Maggie Nieto placed second on the beam with a score of 9.275.
On the floor exercise, Ithaca also boasted the top two finishers, as senior
Megan Harrington won the event with a score of 9.450, followed by freshman
Victoria Gery, who matched her career-best with a score of 9.375.

Eleanor Almeida placed fourth (9.250) and classmate
Melissa Hollrigl tied for fifth (9.2) on the floor.
Sophomore
Danielle Maffuid won the uneven bars with a career-best score of 9.450, while classmate
Kendra Balcerak placed third with a score of 9.1.
On the vault, Harrington placed second (9.350), Hollrigl tied for third (9.3), and Gery tied for sixth (9.2).
The Bombers close out the regular season hosting the five-team Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 28 beginning at 1 p.m. Â Ithaca welcomes No. 2 Brockport, No. 4 Cortland, Rhode Island College, and Division I Temple University to campus for the annual Marranca Invitational.
The event will serve as Senior Day for Ithaca's four seniors: Harrington,
Valerie Cohen,
Emma Duncan, and
Lara Haberle.Â
