COMPLETE RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team went 1-1 on Sunday as the Bombers hosted SUNY Geneseo and Hartwick College as part of a tri-meet inside the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion. Ithaca, which is receiving votes in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America national poll, defeated Hartwick, 157-127, and fell to Geneseo, which is also receiving votes, 213-81. Â
Andrew Mikhailichenko notched three strong finishes on Sunday as the Ithaca native nabbed both of the Bombers' first place finishes overall. Mikhailichenko won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.58 and would go on to take the top spot in the 200 breaststroke after touching the wall six seconds ahead of the field in 2:07.98. The freshman also secured a third place finish in the 200 individual medley, which was one spot behind teammate
Matt Quinney who placed second (2:00.15).
Senior
Adam Zelehowsky finished in second place overall in the 200 free in 1:44.33 while
John Mosier concluded the race in fifth place with a mark of 1:49.65. Zelehowsky also placed second in the 100 free after finishing in 47.65, which was just .35 of a second behind the winner. Teammate
Aaron Levin was in the hunt as well and finished third in 47.89.
Levin also fared well in the 50 free as the sophomore settled for second place after finishing in 21.69 – just .01 behind the first place finisher.Â
In the 1000 free,
Jake Hewitt secured a third place showing in 10:18.54 and would later add a second place finish in the 200 butterfly after touching the wall in 1:57.33.
In the 100 back,
Gregory Markert was Ithaca's top finisher taking third place with a time of 55.43 while Quinney took fourth overall in 55.53.
In relay competition, Ithaca's team of
Bradley Keith, Mikhailichenko, Zelehowsky and Levin earned a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.23. The Bombers would go on to claim another second place finish as Levin,
Kellen Scanlan, Conner Schroyer and Zelehowsky completed the 200 freestyle relay in 1:27.06.
The Bombers, who are now 5-2 overall on the season, will break for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion December 2-4 for the Bomber Invite. Â Â Â
