ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team captured its fourth win of the season on Friday night as the Bombers took down Le Moyne College, 176-115, inside the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion. The win moved Ithaca's record to 4-1 while the Dolphins closed out the meet at 2-2.
Ithaca began the meet by earning 11 points and a win in the 200 medley relay as
Bradley Keith,
Andrew Mikhailichenko,
Adam Zelehowsky and
Aaron Levin posted the fastest time in 1:36.76. The Bombers would repeat as winners in the 400 free relay when Levin,
Daniel Meyers,
Kellen Scanlan and Zelehowsky touched the wall first in 3:13.70.
In individual competition, Zelehowsky won the 200 free with a time of 1:44.70 while
Gregory Markert and Keith tied for a win in the 100 backstroke after touching the wall in 55.75.
Zelehowsky would later add another win in the 100 free after the senior posted a time of 47.00 while Markert finished first in the 200 backstroke (2:02.56) to earn Ithaca another nine points.
In the 100 breaststroke, Mikhailichenko collected a win after finishing the race just over a half of a second ahead of the runner-up with a time of 1:00.15.
Matt Quinney was third overall with a mark of 1:02.40. Mikhailichenko would later take another event after winning the 200 breaststroke by nearly nine seconds in 2:09.00.
Jake Hewitt beat out five other competitors in the 200 butterfly with a three-second win at 1:58.02. Hewitt picked up two more top-three finishes overall including a second place showing in the 1000 free and a third place finish in the 500 free.
Levin earned the Bombers nine points in the 50 free with a win (21.79) and would later take second in the 100 free in 47.81.
Joshua Briggs collected a pair on wins in the deep end as the freshman posted 207.25 points on the 3-meter and 241.45 points on the 1-meter.
Ithaca will return to the water at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November, 20 when it hosts SUNY Geneseo and Hartwick College in a tri-meet inside the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion.
