Last Time Out
The Ithaca College field hockey team dropped yet another heart-breaker on Saturday, falling 3-2 in overtime on the road at Hartwick. The Bombers dominated the territorial advantage in the contest, out-shooting the Hawks 33-to-11 in the game, but the game remained tied at 2-2 following 70 minutes of regulation. Although Ithaca fired nine of their 33 total shots in the extra session, it was Hartwick that seized victory with 2:44 left in the first overtime. The loss lowered Ithaca's record to 3-3 in Empire 8 play.

Post-Season Picture
Saturday's crushing defeat at Hartwick dealt the Bombers a difficult blow to their hopes for qualifying for a second consecutive Empire 8 tournament. However, IC still controls its own playoff fate with two games remaining in the conference schedule. Although IC currently sits outside of the league's post-season picture with a 3-3 record, IC can finish no lower than fourth if it wins its final two league games. Ithaca has a favorable schedule remaining, facing a must-win contest at home against Washington & Jefferson on Saturday and an appetizing matchup on the road at last-place Elmira the following weekend.

Home Cooking
While the road has not been kind to Ithaca in 2016, the Bombers have been unbeatable in the friendly confines of Higgins Stadium. IC is 4-0 record on South Hill in 2016, outscoring its four opponents by a combined 17-1 margin. Three of those victories have come by way of shutout, as IC has a pair of 3-0 victories over Empire 8 foes Utica and Houghton and a 7-0 thrashing of Nazareth on its ledger. Dating back to the beginning of last season, IC has posted a 12-3 mark at Higgins, scoring three-or-more goals 10 times.

Scoring Streaks
Forwards, Cassie Schuttrumpf and Colleen Keegan-Twombly, have remained hot in the scoring department over the Bombers latest losing skid. Both players have scored a goal in back-to-back contests entering Tuesday.

Scouting Susquehanna
The Bombers won't find things easy in their final non-conference home match of the year, as Susquehanna enters with an 11-2 record. Defense has been the River Hawks calling card, as they have conceded just one goal over their last seven contests. Hunter Pitman leads the team with 33 points on 15 goals and three assists.

Looking Ahead
Ithaca returns to action on Saturday, October 22, as the Bombers welcome Washington & Jefferson to Higgins Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. start. IC will also be celebrating Senior Day.
