RESULTS
BROCKPORT, N.Y. —The nationally-ranked Ithaca College gymnastics team traveled to The College at Brockport for a dual meet Saturday afternoon, and the Bombers suffered a 191.650-183.775 loss inside the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center.
Ithaca (2-3), ranked seventh by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association, had rallied for a 182.750-181.475 victory Jan. 20 in the Bombers' home opener. This time around, No. 6 Brockport (3-1) won all four events to knock off Ithaca.
The Bombers scored a season-best 47.450 on the floor exercise, and finished with 46.625 points on the vault, 45.225 points on the uneven bars, and 44.475 points on the balance beam.
In the floor exercise, graduate student and co-captain
Valerie Cohen set a season-best with a 9.600 to place fifth. Freshman
Haley Lyons recorded a career-best score of 9.575 to place sixth, and classmate
Carolyn Nichols added a 9.500 and placed seventh for the Bombers.
Senior
Megan Harrington (9.4) and freshman
Victoria Gery (9.375) placed eighth and 10th, respectively, in the floor exercise for Ithaca. Nichols recorded a career-best score of 9.500 to place fourth on the vault, while sophomore
Kaylee Pacunas (9.425) was sixth on the vault.
On the uneven bars, sophomore
Mina Shernan placed seventh (9.150) and sophomore
Kendra Balcerak (9.125) was eighth for the Bombers.
Senior co-captain
Lara Haberle was Ithaca's top finisher on the balance beam, placing sixth after scoring 9.200.
Ithaca hosts Springfield College, ranked eighth in the country, at 11 a.m. Saturday inside the Ben Light Gymnasium.Â
