Bombers Cruise Past Alfred, 211-81

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team earned 14 first place finishes as the Bombers defeated Alfred University, 211-81, on Saturday inside the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion.

The Bombers began the meet with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay when Bradley Keith, Addison Hebert, Aidan Hartswick and Jon Husson combined to touch the wall in 1:39.89 before the tandem of Keith Dougherty and Justin Barwick finished first and second, respectively, in the 1000 free.

Hebert would earn Ithaca another top finish in the 200 free after beating out seven other entries with a mark of 1:47.65 while Keith picked up his second first place finish of the meet after winning the 100 back in 56.56.

The Bombers would sweep the first three finishes in the 100 breaststroke after James Bowe, Hartswick and Jon Yoskin finished in consecutive order.  Christian Rauch got in on the action, capturing nine more points for Ithaca with a win in the 200 butterfly after defeating the field by more than 10 seconds.

Ithaca would continue its dominance in the meet after taking the first three spots in the 50 free when Aaron Levin captured the top spot followed by Husson and Jeremy Kingsley who would go on to touch the wall first in the 100 free with a winning time of 49.69.

Ithaca would record three more top-three finishes in the 200 back as Keith, Gregory Markert and Marshall Hendlin finished 1-2-3 to earn the Bombers 16 points in all.

Bowe would secure his second top finish of the meet in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.52) and would repeat the feat in the 200 IM after beating out five other competitors with a time of 2:07.06.

The Bombers would cap the meet with a first place finish in the 200 free relay when Levin, Kingsley, Husson and Vincent Dodero completed the event in 1:29.36.

Scott Hillen cleaned up in the deep end of the pool, winning both the 1-meter (267.80) and 3-meter (288.20) diving events.

Ithaca will return to action on Sunday when it hosts the Dick Comanzo Diving Invite in the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion.
