Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College field hockey team won its season opener against SUNY Oneonta, 3-1, on Tuesday evening, Sept. 1, on the campus of Hartwick College.

Colleen Keegan-Twombly tallied Ithaca's first goal of the season at the 10:47 mark of the first half, and gave the Bombers a 1-0 lead, off a deflected shot by senior
Caitlin O'Brien, who earned the assist.
Just over ten minutes later (20:56) junior
Cassie Schuttrumpf put in a loose ball in the circle to give Ithaca and two-goal advantage. Exactly three minutes later, sophomore
Amanda Schell notched an unassisted goal, which is the first of her career.
Oneonta answered back with the final goal of the half - and contest - with 6:48 remaining on the clock on just its third shot of the game.
In the second half, Ithaca managed to take just three shots in 35 minutes and put two on target. Two of Oneonta's three shots in the second half were saved by Bombers' junior goalkeeper
Katie Lass.
Lass earned the win in all 70 minutes of action and stopped three shots.
The Bombers outshot Oneonta, 13-4, in first half shots and 17-7 at the end of regulation. Oneonta was awarded 11 corners, to eight for Ithaca.
Ithaca hosts Washington College on Saturday, Sept. 5 for the team's home opener at 1 p.m. at Higgins Stadium.
