BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team set a school-record score on balance beam and recorded a team score of 187 or higher for the second week in a row at the Brockport Invitational. The host Golden Eagles won the meet with a school-record score of 192.225, Cortland was second with a 187.475, just ahead of Ithaca's 187.050. Rhode Island College was fourth with a score of 176.625.
Ithaca's five scoring lineup members on balance beam totaled 47.500, which is the highest beam team score in program history. The previous record was 47.225 at the ECAC Championships in 2009.
Hannah Donnelly led Ithaca on beam with a 9.75, a career-best score for her. She placed first overall on balance beam.
Rachel Lee was fifth on beam with a score of 9.675.
Ithaca also set a season-best team score on floor exercise with a total of 46.775.
Megan Harrington led Ithaca on floor with a 9.6 and a fifth-place finish. Harrington's score was a career-best.
Kendra Balcerak was 11th on floor with a 9.4 and Donnelly was 12th with a 9.35.
The Bombers had three top-10 finishers on uneven bars as Harrington was seventh with a career-best score of 9.4.
Kelly Nash was ninth with a 9.375 and
Kendra Balcerak was 10th with a 9.35.
Rachel Lee led Ithaca on vault with a 9.425 and an eighth-place finish. Harrington was ninth with a 9.375.
Harrington scored 36.600 and finished first in all-around against one other all-around competitor.
Ithaca concludes its regular season Saturday at Cortland, and then will compete at the NCGA East Region Championships at Ursinus on March 14.
