Box Score ALFRED, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team dropped a road conference game to Alfred Tuesday night, falling to the Saxons by a score of 73-59. The loss puts the Bombers' overall record at 10-10, including a record of 7-4 in the Empire 8. Alfred moves to 12-7 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
The Bombers shot 30.8 percent from the floor, connecting on 20-of-65 total shots. Ithaca was 5-of-30 from beyond the arc, hitting 16.7 percent from three-point range. The Bombers were 14-of-16 from the charity stripe, shooting 87.5 percent from the free throw line. Ithaca's bench recorded 25 points on the night, outscoring the Saxons' total of 19.

Sam Bevan paced the Bombers with 10 points, adding two assists, eight rebounds and a team high two steals. Classmate
Brad Johanson scored five points in reserve and led Ithaca with 10 rebounds, marking a new career high. Freshman
Joey Flanagan scored a career-high nine points in a career-high 20 minutes, connecting on 3-of-3 shots from the floor.
Alfred came out fast in the opening frame, jumping ahead of the Bombers by a score of 10-2 in the first 3:30 of play. The Saxons were able to push their lead to double digits over the next 10 minutes, going up by a score of 28-16. Ithaca outscored Alfred in the final six minutes of the half, finishing the first on a 10-7 run. The Bombers cut Alfred's lead to six points on several occasions over that stretch, but the Saxons still went into the break leading 35-26.
Alfred's momentum carried into the second, as the Saxons' lead grew to 19 points four minutes into the final frame. Trailing 48-29, the Bombers responded, chipping away at the Saxon advantage over the next six minutes. Ithaca went on a 16-4 run, marking the team's biggest offensive push of the game. Max Masucci capped the run, pulling the Bombers back to within single digits at 52-45.
Despite Ithaca's rally, the Bombers would not get any closer. Alfred closed strong in the final 10 minutes of play, giving the Saxons a 73-59 win.
The Bombers return to the road for their next contest on Friday, Feb. 6 against Houghton. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
