PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team achieved its highest team score total in nearly three years with a total of 187.500 and a victory at Rhode Island College, who totaled 179.950. Ithaca last scored that high on March 3, 2012 at Cortland with a team total of 188.075. It was also nearly three points higher than Ithaca's previous best score of the season.

Kendra Balcerak took individual honors on both balance beam and uneven bars for Ithaca. Balcerak scored 9.675 on balance beam and 9.625 on bars and both were season-high scores for her. She entered the meet with Ithaca's highest scoring average on balance beam and that will increase after a season-best score. These were also the first two event wins for Balcerak in her debut season.

Rachel Lee and
Valerie Cohen tied for first on vault for Ithaca with scores of 9.475. Those were season-best scores for both gymnasts on vault. Ithaca's team total of 46.950 on vault was its highest of the season.

On floor exercise, Ithaca totaled 46.600, its best score of the year on that rotation.
Megan Harrington won the event with a score of 9.525 and Cohen and Balcerak tied for second at 9.45.

Harrington was one of two all-around competitors in the meet and won the all-around with a total of 37.525, a career-best total for her.

Ithaca returns to action Sunday, March 1 at Brockport.
