COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team opened its 2015 season with a dual meet at Ursinus. The host Bears scored 186.400 and Ithaca totaled 182.925. It was Ithaca's highest team score since the 2013 season.

Ithaca's strongest event was the balance beam, where the lineup scored 46.400, one-tenth higher than Ursinus. Ithaca freshman
Rachel Lee led the way with a first-place score of 9.7 in her college debut. Also on the beam for Ithaca,
Kendra Balcerak was fourth with a score of 9.375 and
Maggie Nieto was fifth with a score of 9.275.

Kaylee Pacunas placed second on vault with a score of 9.375, and
Melissa Hollrigl was fourth on vault with a 9.2.
Rachel Lee and
Valerie Cohen tied for fifth with scores of 9.175.

Megan Harrington led the way for the Bombers on uneven bars. Lee was fourth with a 9.325 and Harrington was fifth with a 9.225. Cohen was Ithaca's top finisher on floor exercise with a 9.525 and a fifth-place standing. Harrington was sixth on floor with a 9.5.

Harrington was the only all-around competitor in the meet and totaled 35.825.

Ithaca returns to action next weekend with a Jan. 25 meet at Springfield.
