BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College volleyball team competed at the Brockport Invitational on Friday and Saturday and won all three of its matches to begin the year with a 3-0 record. Ithaca defeated Lasell in straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-9 and 25-13 on Friday night. The Bombers won both of their Saturday matches by 3-1 scores. Ithaca started with a win over Brockport by scores of 27-25, 24-26, 25-13, 25-14 and then defeated Skidmore 25-22, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20.

In the win over Skidmore, Rylie Bean led Ithaca with 16 kills and one block. Dylan Gawinski Stern had nine kills, and Caroline Gerulskis and Siobhan Sorensen had seven kills each. Sorensen added two blocks. Molly Brown had a team-leading 35 assists in the match. Kayla Gromen had 27 digs, while Gawinski Stern had 13.

Complete statistics for the other two matches will be available early this week. Ithaca will host the Ithaca Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Ben Light Gymnasium on Sept. 5-6.
