Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team dropped its first home game of the season Tuesday night, falling to Hobart by a score of 84-66 at Ben Light Gymnasium. The loss puts the Bombers at 0-2 on the year.
 
The Bombers shot 39.7 percent from the field, converting on 29-of-58 shots in the defeat. Ithaca hit seven shots from three-point range on 24 attempts.
 
Senior Keefe Gitto led the Bombers with 20 points, combining with 11 rebounds for his second career double-double. Gitto also added two steals and a block in 28 minutes of play. Classmate Max Masucci ranked second on the Bombers with 11 points off the bench. Masucci also paced Ithaca in three-pointers, hitting 3-of-6 shots from beyond the arc. Freshman Carroll Rich also had a strong showing, hitting 4-of-4 shots for nine points in 23 minutes in reserve. 
 
After a close start in the opening half that featured two ties, the Statesmen began to pull way midway through the frame. Trailing Hobart by a score of 27-17, the Bombers rallied and went on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a deep three ball from sophomore Joe Masino. However, Hobart regained its momentum from that point on and carried it to the end of the first, giving the Statesmen a 47-29 lead at the break.
 
Ithaca played even basketball with Hobart in the second, with both teams scoring 37 points in the final frame. Hobart's strong first half would make the difference, giving the Statesmen the 84-66 win.
 
The Bombers return to action on Friday, Nov. 21 for an 8 p.m. non-conference matchup with Trinity at Ben Light Gymnasium. Friday marks the first day of the Cortaca Classic, as Ithaca will host a neutral site contest between Cortland and Farmingdale prior to Ithaca's game at 6 p.m.
