Box Score ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College field hockey team pulled out a win over Elmira Saturday afternoon, as the Bombers defeated the Soaring Eagles by a score of 2-1 at the Murray Athletic Center. Ithaca's victory improves the team's record to 5-5 overall, including a mark of 3-1 in Empire 8 play.

Colleen Keegan-Twombly scored both of the Bombers' goals in the victory, while sophomore goalkeeper
Katie Lass made four saves on five Elmira shots. Ithaca dominated in the shot department, totaling 29 shots to Elmira's six. The Bombers also dominated in penalty corners, earning 14 to the Soaring Eagles' two.

Keegan-Twombly scored her first of the game at 3:55, taking a pass from classmate
Cassie Schuttrumpf in front to give Ithaca the 1-0 advantage. Keegan-Twombly struck again in the first half, as she netted her second of the contest in the 28th minute. Freshman
Amanda Schell started the play with a pass in front, finding Keegan-Twombly for the score. Keegan-Twombly's tally marked her first career two-goal game, while Schell's assist pushed her point streak to two games.

Elmira finally got on the board in the 59th minute, as the Soaring Eagles scored on a scrum in front to cut the Bombers' lead to 2-1.

Lass and the Ithaca defense shut out Elmira for the remainder of the contest, giving the Bombers a 2-1 win.
