ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team (3-6, 0-1 E8) lost to Hartwick (5-5, 1-0 E8) Friday evening, falling to the Hawks by a score of 92-50 at Lambros Arena.

Sam Bevan led the Bombers with 13 points, adding a steal, an assist and three rebounds in 19 minutes of play. Senior
Frank Mitchell contributed six points and led the Bombers with nine boards. Sophomore
Andrew Brandt recorded a season-high four points to go along with a block and six rebounds.
Ithaca shot 32.1 percent from the floor, connecting on 18 shots in 56 attempts. The Bombers shot 63.6 percent from the free throw line, hitting 14-of-22 attempts.
Hartwick opened the game on a 20-4 run, taking a 16-point lead on the Bombers in the first nine minutes of play. Ithaca cut the Hawks' lead to 11 on two occasions in the opening frame, but still trailed by a score of 47-19 at the half.
The Bombers came out firing in the second, as Ithaca went on an 8-0 run in the opening 1:39 of the half. Bevan led the way with six-straight points, hitting three-straight layups to pull the Bombers back to within striking distance.
Despite the early success in the second half, Ithaca didn't get any closer, eventually falling to Hartwick by a score of 92-50.
The Bombers are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 4 in another Empire 8 contest at Stevens. The game is set to start at 3 p.m.
