St. John Fisher Scores Home Win Over Ithaca Men's Basketball Team

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's basketball team was led by 18 points from Frank Mitchell but came out on the short end of a 79-56 score at St. John Fisher on Friday. The Bombers are 4-11 on the season and stand at 0-5 in Empire 8 play. St. John Fisher is 9-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Ithaca returns to action Saturday afternoon at Nazareth at 2 p.m.

Mitchell scored in double figures for the fifth consecutive game and is averaging 17.7 points per game on the season. He had six points in the first half and 12 in the second half. Leonard Davis led the Bombers with eight rebounds, a career-high for Davis. Tom Sweeney added 10 points for Ithaca.

The Bombers were just 3-for-12 from behind the 3-point arc in the contest. The Cardinals never trailed in the game, and held a 7-6 lead after five minutes, but used a 12-0 run to extend the lead that they never relinquished.
