ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca College gymnast Valerie Cohen turned in a season and career-best performance on the floor exercise and placed second on that event to highlight the Bombers' efforts at the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Cornell at Teagle Hall on Saturday. Brockport and Cortland also participated in the four-team meet. Host Cornell scored 190.625, Brockport totaled 187.250, Cortland had a team score of 186.775 and Ithaca College scored 180.125.

Cohen's floor exercise routine earned a score of 9.675 from the judges and placed second overall among 24 gymnasts in that event.

Ithaca also earned top-10 finishes on uneven bars as Christine Niles scores 9.375 to place seventh overall and Rani Jacobson finished 10th with a score of 9.250. Cohen was Ithaca's top scorer on vault with a score of 9.275 and Chelsea Robie led the Bombers on balance beam with a score of 8.850.

The Bombers will host the annual Harriett Marranca Memorial Invitational next weekend at the Hill Center, along with participating teams Brockport, Rhode Island College and Wilson.
