NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Ithaca College gymnastics team posted a team score of 180.800 and finished third in a field of three teams at a tri meet hosted by Division II Southern Connecticut State and Division I Yale on Sunday. The Bombers' team score improved by nearly three full points over their opening meet last weekend.

Ithaca had two gymnasts record top-five finishes in individual events. Valerie Cohen was third among all competitors on vault with a score of 9.425. It's the second meet in a row that Cohen has paced Ithaca's vault lineup. Christine Niles was fourth on uneven bars with a routine that scored 9.550.

Chelsea Robie led Ithaca on balance beam with a 9.050 and Cohen led Ithaca on floor with a score of 9.550. Katie Sampson scored 9.200 on floor and placed tied for 11th. Sampson totaled 35.925 in all-around.

The Bombers return to action with a dual meet next Sunday at Springfield.
