Cortland, N.Y. -- The Ithaca women's tennis team (5-0) maintained its perfect record in dual-matches with a 6-1 win at Cortland (2-4) Thursday evening at SUNY Cortland. The Bombers were victorious in six of the seven matches that were completed, and two singles matches were unfiinished as darkness set in and they were unable to complete those matches.

Ithaca built a 2-1 lead after the completion of doubles play due to a strong comeback in the second-doubles position. Sophomore Alyssa Steinweis and senior Laurel Salladay trailed 6-3 in the match, but rallied to force a tiebreak at 8-8, and won the tiebreak 9-7. The Bombers' first-doubles pairing of senior Allison Young and sophomore Carly Siegel were 8-5 winners.

The Bombers picked up singles victories by Siegel, Salladay and Steinweis as well as sophomore Allison Vizgaitis.

Ithaca team members will compete this weekend at the ITA Northeast Regionals, hosted by William Smith.
