Bombers Cruise to 8-1 Victory Over Morrisville

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College field hockey team (2-0) cruised to an 8-1 victory over visiting Morrisville (0-1) Saturday afternoon at Higgins Stadium.

Ithaca, who was playing its second game in as many days, defeated the Mustangs for the fifth consecutive year. It was Ithaca's largest margin of victory since an 8-1 win over Elmira in 2004.

The Bombers tallied four goals in each period with Morrisville claiming their sole score in the 62nd minute. Ithaca outshot Morrisville 33-7 and took 18 corners to the Mustangs' four.

Senior Julia Conroy recorded a hat trick to lead all scoring efforts, while junior Emily Lash dished out a trio of assists on the day. Sophomore Amber Foose found the back of the cage twice and classmate Danielle Coiro added one goal and one assist. Freshman Katelyn Gualtieri recorded a pair of assists.

Senior Abbey Lind and freshman Taylor O'Neil accounted for the Bombers' other two goals and sophomore Natalie Lynch had an assist.  

Senior Kelly Singleton claimed the win in cage having made two stops.

The Bombers will next host Oswego on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m.
