Webster, N.Y. - The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team repeated as Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association champions and also won the Empire 8 title following the final day of competition at the Webster Aquatic Center. The Bombers have won five state titles and captured its fifth conference title in the meet's 12-year history. Ithaca finished the meet with 1,479 points, a 187-point advantage over the next closest team in a 13-team field.
The final day of competition was highlighted by two school records. Senior
Jeff Rapp swam 1:51.82 to place second in the 200-yard backstroke, which was an Ithaca record and met the NCAA B qualifying standard. Ithaca's 400-yard freestyle relay of senior

Chris Cadwell set an Ithaca record with a time of 3:05.40, which placed third in the event.
The Bombers also placed two finishers among the top-eight in the 200-yard breaststroke as junior
Jake Lichter was second with a time of 2:08.03, the second-fastest time in Ithaca history. Sophomore
Cheffy Thomas placed eighth in the event finals with a time of 2:10.19, which stands eighth on the Ithaca record board.
Three Bombers made the finals of the 100-yard freestyle.
Connors was third,
Robbins was fourth and sophomore
John Carr was eighth.
Ithaca will await word on selections to the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championship meet, which will take place March 21-24 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
