CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team was in action on Saturday afternoon and earned a hard-fought 173–126 victory over SUNY Cortland, highlighted by depth and relay strength.
The Bombers opened with second place in the 400-yard medley relay (3:42.44) and closed the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.34) behind
Alec Kutsner,
Matthew Mitros,
Ryan Cooke, and
Spencer Alderson.
In individual events,
Jack True set the tone with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:24.09), while
Ben Hurty claimed the 500 free in 5:03.97.
Bennett Molitor-Kirsch led the freestylers with a top time in the 200 free (1:49.13), and Alderson took the 50 free (22.26). Mitros added a win in the 100 free (49.77).
On the boards,
Kian Long secured first in the 3-meter dive (282.95) and second in the 1-meter (256.40), giving Ithaca key team points.
Ryan Cooke also shined in the 200 IM, winning in 2:01.95, while
Alec Kutsner dominated the 200 backstroke with his final touch and time of 2:01.94.
