ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In a tightly contested matchup, the Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team edged Rochester Institute of Technology 160–140 in dual meet action on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers relied on depth and clutch performances in the relays and distance events, along with a strong showing on the boards, to earn the hard fought victory.
Ryan Cooke paced the men's team with wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.86), 100-yard freestyle (46.37), and 500-yard freestyle (4:42.07).
Alec Kutsner led the backstroke group, winning the 100-yard backstroke in 49.69, while Hurty, Wardrop, and Adams swept the top three spots in the 200-yard backstroke. Kutsner's time in the 100-yard backstroke marked an RIT pool record inside Judson Pool.
Mitros and
Connor Lajza delivered strong butterfly swims, with Mitros taking second in the 100-yard butterfly (51.62). In diving,
Kian Long won the 3-meter event with 329.05 points and placed second on 1-meter.
The Bombers closed the meet with victories in both 400-yard freestyle relay with the men's "A" team posting a recorded time of 3:05.59.

It was the Bombers first-ever dual meet win over RIT after going 0-6 across the last few seasons. Ithaca continues its strong start to the season and are 6-1 now and will return to action next weekend at 2025 Bomber Invitational that will take place Dec. 4-6.
