St. John Fisher Edges Ithaca Field Hockey

Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Ithaca field hockey team (6-6, 2-3 Empire 8) took almost 20 more shots than host St. John Fisher (5-7, 3-2 Empire 8) but the Bombers dropped a 2-0 decision Friday afternoon at Fisher's Growney Stadium. Ithaca returns to action Wednesday at Rochester.

Ithaca took 27 shots in the game, and limited St. John Fisher to just nine, but the Cardinals scored one goal in each half in the victory. The Cardinals scored the opening goal in the fifth minute of play and added an insurance tally with 7:23 remaining in the second half.

The Bombers earned 21 penalty corners in the game. Katie Kennedy had 10 shots for the Bombers to lead the team in that category.

Goalkeeper Kelly Singleton made four saves.
